We’re all about the craft, and this project was no different. We started by giving the old roof a total makeover – stripped it down to the lath, almost like hitting the reset button. Then, we laid down brand-new plywood across the entire roof to keep things solid. Grace Ice and Water, the unsung hero, came next to keep the elements at bay. And the cedar breather, a kind of spongy mesh, was our secret weapon to keep things breezy and dry. It’s what makes the cedar shingles thrive, no matter the weather.
While we were on the job, we had an epiphany – let’s add some copper flashing to the chimney for that extra flair. Our client couldn’t have been happier, and the buzz around the neighborhood was electric.
